Sophie, here’s a question for your Ask Sophie, but I get a little verbose, so it’s not going to fit in a tweet. I have modeled for art classes for many years. I have gone to Bay to Breakers for the past six years and walked through San Francisco naked. For much of that time, I am the only naked person in sight, surrounded by thousands of clothed people. To illustrate, here’s a video of me in the starting corral during the delay to the start of the race in 2014: https://vimeo.com/105437968 I also recently attended a conscious dance workshop at a local yoga studio where participants are to “free their minds and bodies.” I asked the facilitator if I could dance naked since that was the only way for me to free my body, especially after so many years of art modeling, and she reluctantly agreed. There were ten of us, and I was the only naked dancer. The experience was fantastic. I’ve tried to find opportunities to repeat that experience, but dance leaders are reluctant to allow it.

I’ve been nude in traditional nudist places, but there’s something special about being the only nude person around a group of clothed people, either in the art class or in more non-traditional environments. How do you feel about being nude around clothed people? Do you find it intimidating, exciting, or is it no big thing to you?
